SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) is found in the majority of cosmetic products in todays market.
Regulations say it is 'ok' for human use as only a small amount is applied in one 'rinse off' product. Therefore, it has low toxicity. Sadly, what is not taken into account is the combination of other SLS based products people use on a daily basis. This includes: soaps, shower/bath products, shampoo, conditioner, face creams, toothpaste, washing powder, make up, cleaning products etc...so all combined, it can amount to a lot!
The aim here is not to scare the bananas out of people or even to cut everything out, as that would mean to quit life and go live in a cave in the mountain. During my own journey I sometimes felt like I needed a chemistry degree to understand the mystery letters and big words on the back of my products. However, a little bit of reading goes a long way. I learnt to read a few different articles but check the sources as some articles I found to be biased.
